on a recent trip to SF, I decided to take photographs of people without them knowing. in order to keep my presence unknown, I shot all of these images from waist/stomach level, without using the viewfinder. as a result, many of these images are crooked, out of focus and awkwardly composed. however, I feel that this was the only way that I would be able to capture "real expressions". most of these were shot in chinatown.
